Spotlighting the Thrills and Explosive Fierce Energy of the Shows during NYFW17

From the moment of our arrival in New York, one could feel the extreme cold in the air, as well as the intensity and thrill of why we were here…….the beginning of NYFW17.

So, for the first couple of days, we spent maneuvering through the city picking up our press credentials, and attending model castings prior to the first day of the shows. Within the next few hours, my team and I started receiving online invitations from various designers. Chelsea Kithcart-The Model (Iris’ Eye on Fashion Assistant) was chosen to walk in a few of the shows, so we coordinated the shows to attend alongside with her shows.

NYFW17-THE SHOWS took place in the main venues at the Galleries I, II & III at the Skylight Clarkson Square off of 550 and 558 Washington Streets, 40 Bethune Street and other off-site locations within the surrounding areas of the city.

I admit, this year’s productions were much easier to maneuver from show to show, as most were presented in the same venues. The excitement was building as we stood in lines to enter and witness some of the best looks this season has to offer, from some of the best designers this industry has to offer.   To mention a few were Francesca Liberatore, Mimi Prober, The Blonds, Irina Vitjaz, Namilia, Michael Costello, Chromat, Calvin Luo, Hakan Akkaya and Marchesa.

Throughout the city, there were multiple productions taking stage during NYFW.

STYLE FASHION WEEK– was held at The Theater at Madison Square Garden on Thursday, February 9th featuring a host of elite designers such as David Tupaz, Wang Li Ling, Malan Breton, Honee Persona, Adrian Alicea and Richie Rich to name a few. The Venue was filled to capacity, and the media riser was swanked with photographers ensuring they get maximum coverage of the shows. Throughout the evening, the inside was heated from the magnitude of complete Style on the runway. The air was electric and the audience was turned up from the entertainment of Artists who ripped the stage.  Style Fashion Week proved why it is one of the best must see productions during NYFW.  My Team (Iris’ Eye on Fashion) and I are excited to cover the shows during Style Fashion Weeks future productions.

ART HEARTS FASHION SHOW-was held at the Angel Orensanz Foundation with shows presenting on Friday, February 10th -14th.  Featured designers rocking the runway were Vaishali S, Mister Triple X, Sheguang Hu, Eli Made, Rocky Gathercole and a host of others. Each year, Eric Rosete and his Team put on a phenomenal production.  A portion of proceeds are donated to the Aids Healthcare Foundation.  This production is known as the #1 Art fashion event in the country.

Designer Stevie Boi – Nothing was more exciting than attending the fabulous luxury eyewear and iconic fashion designer Stevie Boi showing his latest collection entitled “Noir”. The venue was standing room only. The mood was set by the dimming of the lights, as Noir means dark or black. The show opened with the creative and melodic dancer @Jusstamera, who vogued to the music on the runways. She set the tone for what the audience was about to experience on the runway. The diverse selection of the models rocked the runway in designs made of black latex, in styles some may consider a little edgy, while wooing the audience with their movements and antics on the runway.  During the finale, the audience gave the designer Stevie Boi a roar of applause as he walked the runway.  I attest this to be one of the most creative and exciting show during NYFW.  Be sure to follow Stevie Boi at @sbshades and at http://www.stevieboi.com.
